National Trust Grant to Support Light Capsules Project
A grant has been awarded to Craig Winslow and his Light Capsules project in advance of the Centennial. Craig seeks out faded “ghost signs” and sets up projected light installations to “restore” the signs in a unique way. This grant is for a pilot project across Oklahoma. The Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership has received a $2,250 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to support Craig Winslow’s project, Light Capsules. Grants from National Trust Preservation Funds (NTPF) are intended to encourage preservation at the local level by supporting ongoing preservation work and by providing seed money for preservation projects.
Established in 2016, with the support of the National Park Service and the World Monuments' Fund, The Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership’s mission is to revitalize and sustain Route 66 as a national and international icon through partnerships focused on promotion, preservation, research and education, and economic development.
