Oklahoma Beef Council Launches Oklahoma Onion Burger Trail

The Oklahoma Beef Council has launched a “burger trail” that celebrates one of Oklahoma’s culinary specialties: the onion burger.

The Oklahoma Onion Burger trail features 22 restaurants, including several on Historic Route 66. Using either a digital or paper pass, visitors to the specific restaurants will earn points that can be redeemed for merchandise, such as a backpack or a ball cap. Anyone that visits at least one restaurant and “checks in” is entered into a contest to win a $500 gift certificate from the Council.

“We are excited to celebrate the unique experience that is the Oklahoma Onion Burger with this fun promotion,” said Heather Buckmaster, OBC executive director. “We encourage our fellow Oklahomans to join us on the Oklahoma Onion Burger trail, support Oklahoma-owned restaurants, enjoy delicious burgers and win prizes.”

You can sign up for a digital pass for mobile devices at oklabeef.org/burgertrail or you can download a form to print and take with you. The trail officially launches on March 1st and runs through August 30, 2024.

Restaurants on the trail include: Bunny’s Onion Burgers, Enid Brewing Co. & Eatery, Hank’s Hamburgers (Member of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association), J&W Grill, Johnnie’s Hamburgers & Coney’s, Lookout Kitchen (all 6 locations), Nic’s Grill, Nic’s Place, Robert’s Grill, Sid’s Diner (in El Reno and Minco) Sun Cattle Co., and Tucker’s Onion Burgers (all 5 locations).
