Edelbrock Sick 66 Drag-and-Drive Racing Series comes to Route 66 in October

As we announced in April, the Edelbrock Sick 66 Drag Racing Cruise event comes to five Route 66 states in October! From October 10th to October 18th, Sick the Magazine is hosting a drag racing series event across Route 66 from Missouri to New Mexico.

Six individual tracks will host eight-mile drag races, after which racers will be driving those same racecars down Historic Route 66 with checkpoints along the way. Three of the nine days will include “pit stops” in Oklahoma and those have been bolded below. Cars will be cruising throughout the day as they complete their races in each park.

The full schedule is as follows (with checkpoints subject to change):

  • October 10

    • Ozark Raceway Park in Rogersville, MO.

      • Tech and testing opens at 8am.

  • October 11

    • Ozark Raceway Park in Rogersville, MO.

      • Racing from 9am-3pm.

    • Cruise to next raceway.

      • Checkpoints at P1 Manufacturing in Rogersville, Gary’s Gay Parita in Paris Springs, Spencer Station in Spencer, Supertam on 66 in Carterville.

  • October 12

    • Mokan Dragway in Asbury, MO.

      • Racing from 9am-3pm.

    • Cruise to next raceway.

      • Gearhead Curios in Galena KS, Rainbow Bridge in Baxter Springs KS, Crosstar Flag and Tag Museum in Afton OK, Hi-Way Café in Vinita, Blue Whale in Catoosa OK.

  • October 13

    • Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, OK.

      • Racing from 9am-3pm.

    • Cruise to next raceway.

      • Bristow Fire Department in Bristow, Route 66 Bowl in Chandler, Chicken Shack in Arcadia.

  • October 14

    • Cruise to next raceway.

      • DeatschWerks in Oklahoma City, Historic Route 66 Rest Area near Bridgeport, Stafford Air and Space Museum in Weatherford, Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton, National Rt 66 and Transportation Museum in Elk City, Sandhill Curiosity Shop in Erick, Conoco Tower Station & U-Drop Inn in Shamrock TX, Devil’s Rope Museum in McLean, Phillips 66 Station in McLean, Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo.

  • October 15

    • Amarillo Dragway in Amarillo, TX.

      • Racing from 9am-3pm.

    • Cruise to next raceway.

      • Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Midway Point of Route 66 in Adrian, Tucumcari Blvd in Tucumcari NM.

  • October 16

    • Cruise to next raceway.

    • Old Route 66 Underpass near Montoya, Cuervo Ghost Town, Route 66 Auto Museum in Santa Rosa, Pecos River Station in San Jose, Los Alamos Main Gate in Los Alamos, Bosque Brewing in Albuquerque.

  • October 17

    • Albuquerque Dragway in Albuquerque, NM.

      • Racing from 9am-3pm.

    • Cruise to next raceway.

      • Lewis Antique and Auto Museum in Moriarty, Clines Corners, Penny’s Diner in Vaughn.

  • October 18

    • Alien City Dragway, Roswell, NM.

      • Racing from 12pm-6pm.
