Tulsa Author Announces Route 66 Motor Coach Tour
Tulsa author Annette Murray and tour operator Karen Smith are putting together a Route 66 motor tour in anticipation of the Route 66 Centennial in 2026. Although the road’s actual birthday isn’t until November 11th, 2026, the excitement is creating many travel and event opportunities along the highway.
“We will absorb the history, art, cuisine, architecture, landmarks, and all the Route 66 magic,” Annette said via press release. The tour has an educational focus and includes “neon signs, historic buildings, motels, diners, and natural beauty.” It starts in Tulsa and heads east to Chicago and includes stops in many communities over seven days.
“Communities along Route 66 are showcasing their customized celebrations as America prepares for this birthday party,” Annette continued. “There will be Route 66 guides in many towns and museuams as well as Route 66 experts who present lectures waiting for us to arrive.”
The motor coach tour is slated to take place in September 2025 but interested participants can sign up now to get more information and see the full itinerary at https://www.authorannettemurray.com/.
