National Route 66 Centennial Website Streamlines Event Submission Process
After launching this spring, the national Route 66 Centennial website has streamlined their event submission process to make it easier and more accessible. The new online events submission form is designed to make it easier for communities, businesses, and individuals to promote their events along America’s most historic highway as people plan their journeys in 2026…and beyond!
The new form, available at Route66Centennial.org, allows users to submit events in just a few minutes with no technical expertise required. Previously, events were submitted through a multi-step process that required a formal training session.
“We built the new submission tool with simplicity in mind,” said Bill Thomas, Chairman of The Road Ahead Partnership and Commissioner for the Route 66 Centennial Commission. “Anyone, whether they are a volunteer in a small town or part of a major organization, can now get their event in front of thousands of Route 66 enthusiasts with just a few clicks. The more events we showcase, the more visitors we attract—and that benefits those that live and work along Route 66.”
The updated form includes user-friendly fields, drop-down selections, and the ability to upload photos and flyers. Once submitted, events are reviewed and published on the official national-level Centennial calendar, helping visitors plan their journey and experience all that Route 66 has to offer for the Centennial and beyond.
Whether it’s a car show, local fair, historic reenactment, or special performance, every event plays a vital role in telling the story of the Mother Road during this celebration.
