Neato Design Company out of Enid, Oklahoma has been working on a civic installation project for the Route 66 Centennial and is currently holding a giveaway contest for a “sparkly red” Route 66 Bike Rack and an “ice blue” Route 66 Bench. Anyone can nominate their favorite Oklahoma Route 66 city, town, or district once per day.
“From parks and trails to downtowns and historic highways, we love helping communities turn places into joyful, vibrant destinations,” said Kelly Tompkins, founder of Neato Design Co. “This giveaway is one small way we can show love to Route 66 towns and help them shine even brighter.”
Neato Design Co. works on downtown revitalization and creative placemaking through public art and custom site furnishings. Kelly is also an artist herself - the large mural on the Sapulpa water tank near the Rock Creek Bridge is hers.
Nominations can be submitted now through September 30th at www.NeatoRoute66.com, which is also set up for custom ordering. Nominations can be submitted once per day for both the bike rack and the bench. The winning community will be chosen randomly from the qualifying nominations. For questions, people can reach out to Kelly directly through the website.
